proFPGA 의 기본 시스템 구조는 모듈식 확장을 기반으로 합니다.
FPGA 는 전용 FPGA Module 에 조립되어져 있으며, 이를 Motherboard 에 연결을 하여 사용합니다.
시스템을 예로 들어 설명하면, 서로 다른 FPGA(Xilinx 혹은 Altera)를 혼합하여 사용하거나 하나의 FPGA 단위로 시스템을 확장하는 것 역시 가능합니다.
사용자가 접근 가능한 모든 I/O 에 거의 100% 접근이 가능하여, FPGA 간의 상호 연결 구조를 설계 하는데 있어서도 완벽하게 지원을 합니다.
또한, 사용자는 기본이 되는 Motherboard 와 FPGA Module 외에 DDR3 메모리, High Speed interface board (USB3.0, PCIe, Gigabit Ethernet 등) 와 같은 특정 Daughter Board 를 각 보드에 수평, 수직으로 확장 연결해서 이용할 수 있습니다.
높은 유연성을 지원하기 때문에 결합되어 있는 모든 Board 간의 최대 속도를 지원하여 표준 FPGA I/O 에서 최대 12.5Gbps 이상의 속도를 지원합니다.
또한 하나의 Quad Motherboard 에 Xilinx Virtex7 XCV2000T FPGA Module 을 최대 4개까지 확장이 가능하여, 최대 48M ASIC gate 를 처리 할 수 있습니다. Motherboard 는 다시 4장까지 확장 연결이 가능합니다.
