1970년 4월에 설립되었던 Tool사로부터 모든 사업을 이어 받아 2002년 4월에 TOOL Corporation으로 다시 태어나 LAVIS라고 하는 Layout Viewer 프로그램을 발표했다. 일본 동경에 본사를 두고 있으며 직원은 80여 명이다. 미국에 지사를 두고 있으며 미국과 아시아에 많은 대리점을 두고 있다. Viewer Program으로 출발하였으나 지금은 Layout Debug 솔루션으로 거듭나 전 세계에 영업과 지원을 확대하고 있습니다.
세상 모든 형식의 레이아웃 데이터를 초고속으로 시각화하여 주는 Layout Visualization Engine을 가지고 있으며, 빠른 시간 내의 디버깅을 수행할 수 있도록 매우 많은 유틸리티를 제공합니다.

사용자가 Cell,Block/IP와 Chip레벨 어디에서라도 큰 문제가 생기지 않도록 사용자가 원하는 경우에는 개별 디자이너 수준의 디자인 품질을 향상시키기 위해 어떠한 설계 단계에서라도 사용하실 수 있습니다.
Power, Clock, Scan clk, Busses와 error distribution 그리고 critical paths 등과 같은 거대한 노드의 경로를 추적하기 위해 높은 성능으로 chip level에서의 layout을 체크하실 수 있습니다.
특정 영역 안에서만 minimum width와 space를 체크하실 수 있습니다.

An “ OASIS data handling tool” that consists of varieties of functions including direct handling of LSI layout design format OASIS, interconversion between OASIS and GDS or OASIS and text data, hierarchy expansion of cells, format and regulation checks, dumping of OASIS data in text format, hierarchy information output in list format.
